Is Overnight success a myth? Well we all read success stories don’t we, they attracts us. Somehow motivates us to do something very amazing with our lives. We all want the ultimate success like them but have you ever wondered, how many tireless nights and days the people of these amazing happy ending stories went through, whenever somebody says anything about Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and all these people they suddenly get our attention. We want to hear their stories, we are anxious to know about their bank balance. We listen to the talks about their luxurious life styles. They amaze us, inspire us and we want to become a billionaire or a famous star but we never do, we start losing our self-belief and confidence for doing anything successful and end up thinking ourselves as a failure. Here is why, we are looking at the people who are at the top of the mountains.
But the thing we miss is, their struggle of how they climbed there, Steve jobs came into limelight after he founded APPLE in 1976, he was never born as a founder of APPLE, he existed before 1976,struggling to get his life going. How many of you are willing to start again after being fired from your own company. A successful life demands, failures, hard work, passion, self-belief and time.
Change (overnight success):
It all starts with the change, when you start to challenge the life you are offered, when you decide to stop following the line of everyone. When you choose or let’s say create a path for your own with a certain belief that it is going to lead you somewhere different, somewhere worth fighting for, or worth trying, that’s the first step.

Now you should be ready for the second encounter that is rejections. They are neither one nor 5 rejections. They are constant limitless rejections from those whose lives or world you are challenging. An example will clear my point here; you are working in a building of 15 stories. Climbing stairs for that 15th floor is a very tiring activity but you are doing it every day because everyone else there is doing it too. Someday you come up with an idea of an elevator, that is both time saving and energy saving. You discuss that with your colleagues and boss,
Have you lost your mind? That will be their first answer, probably. Well you are talking about one small room that can move from any floor to any floor in seconds, so you are out of your mind. You are challenging the life they are living. This phase is very tough because it’s only you who are thinking on a different perspective. Overnight success is a myth.
Failures are very discouraging; many people who somehow survive through first two phases often fail at this level. Suppose you don’t think that the idea of elevator is a foolish one, your next step will be, making a plan for constructing an elevator. You implement your plan and it worked. This is unlikely or very rarely happens, the thing which commonly happens is, your first plan will fail, and you will somehow forget to match the size of elevator with the building floor in your first attempt. In a second attempt, you will fix the size but the door you put in there would be too large or too small. And this will go on until you figure out everything for your plan to be a success.
So you need to be prepared for baring the constant pain and struggle. Wakeful nights and hungry days, those who really go successively through this phase are the ones who use the failures and rejections as a pain to keep going forward. The idea of skipping the struggle and overnight success is very much flawed.
If you are passionate enough to give up everything for your goals, your journey towards a successful life will be a lot easier. Passion comes with doing something you like. It keeps you rolling. I feel passion is like a good day which manages to show up during our bad times. Passion is like a voice telling you to try again and again every time you fail to succeed.
Time is the only ingredient of success which never comes back. It is the most precious gift you have. In order to be succeeded, you should give your maximum time to the dream you have. It’s a lot easier in words , but practically, you will have to give up on your favorite shows, hobbies and many other social engagements , you should be prone to sacrifice your time for your goals. Well many among you might say that, I know a person who got one night success. May be that person never shared his/ her sufferings with you, never told anyone about those tireless nights and painful days, many people also belief only in luck, they think that all you need is a damn good luck, sometimes you need some favors from luck, but only the charm of a good luck doesn’t work, you must blend your hard work and passion with it, to get what you want. And those who think they are unlucky in every aspect of their lives. Let me tell you, your downfall begins with the excuses you make when you fail to reach your goal, the bigger goal you have, the more will it suck out of you.
