Peter Dinklage was born with a normal sized head and short limbs and he suffers from a condition called achondroplasia and is exactly 4 feet and 5 inches tall, and while he has learned to accept his condition he found it hard to deal with it as a teenager. Peter Dinklage is one of the most loved actors on television today and has taken home two Emmys and a screen actors guild award and is enjoying playing the loveable Tryion. He reflects now on his life and realizes that he has accepted his condition but things were difficult once and its hard for him to think back on his life and so, he doesn’t want to tell people with the same condition that things are always going to be okay.
Every person my size has a different life, a different history. Different ways of dealing with it. Just because I’m seemingly O.K. with it, I can’t preach how to be O.K. with it. I don’t think I still am O.K. with it. There are days when I’m not.
He also comments that he doesn’t like people beating around the bush when it comes to his condition, he thinks it shuts you out from the other person, and it’s better to be direct. But he also comments that things don’t constantly look bad;
I am this guy who’s four and a half feet tall, but my life doesn’t constantly address it.
