The world is a cruel place. It is full of fake people and one of the problems that many people face when navigating through life is how to tell the difference between people who are genuinely nice and those who are just faking it. It is really important for you to surround yourself with positive and genuine people whom you can count on in your hard times. Have you ever come across someone who is always nice to you on your face, but complains about you to other people behind your back? Chances are you probably have. These days, it is impossible to tell who is fake and who isn’t! You try to look for some tell-tale signs, read books about human psychology and try to tell the difference but it’s really hard. Well, if you’re worried about this issue like many people in today’s world are, we have few signs in this article which can make you understand the difference between both.
Look Out For All Vs. Look Down On All
Genuine people respect anyone and everyone. They respect everyone regardless of other people’s position or the power he/she has. They don’t look down on people to feel a sense of superiority. Fake people on the other hand, only respect people with power. They are selective about who they respect, and what they personally gain out of it. The thing that matters most to them is only their personal benefit and what ways they can adopt to get what they want, by hook or by crook.
Hard To Impress Vs. Easy To Please
When it comes to pleasing people, genuine people don’t go out of their way to impress anyone. They don’t try their best to make people like them, but they’re genuine, so you should like them for who they are. They are very comfortable in their skin and don’t care about other’s approval or opinion about themselves. Whereas fake people try their best to make people love them, especially people with power. Fake people like going out of their way to please people until they are seen in a favorable light. Making friends is not a fake act but you one should not try hard to get others to like you.
Comfortable In Shadows Vs. Need The Limelight
Genuine people do not feel the need to be in the spot light all the time, rather they like to spend time being in their comfort zone. They are not attention seekers and the only attention seeking genuine person is basically a good leader trying to get their attention. However, fake people are desperate for attention, and are constantly loud to attract some attention of people. They have a conception that the whole world revolves around them and they are the king of the world.
Humble Vs. Boasting
Some people have a lot of achievements in life and what do they do with it? They don’t brag. They are usually humble and don’t need to show it off to the world what they have done or achieved. Now, that’s a quality of a genuine person. But, fake people like to be the peacock in their groups, even though the achievement is as small as getting a participation certificate, they find a way to show off about it.
To The Face Vs. Behind Your Back
Genuine people are usually straight froward and express whatever they have in their heart or on mind. They have nothing else to share, what’s there, is that is all! They are honest with what they say and they have no hidden motive behind. While, you will always find fake people spreading rumors or things they should’ve kept to themselves instead to bringing them out. They are the two face people we often talk about, beware of them!
Actions Vs. Words of Fake People
Genuine people work up to their potential to keep up with promises they had made with someone. You can find such people around you who genuinely work hard to keep up to their words. Obviously fake people are the opposite. They make promises easily but fail to keep them. They constantly keep giving excuses until anything they do meets a personal motive or agenda. Though they make many promises but you can easily identify the fake person among all because he is the one who seldom keeps up his promises.
Honest Opinion Vs. False Praise
Genuine people admire, praise and get inspired by others. They know they have a capacity to learn more and that they are not perfect. Fake people, on the other hand, criticize others to make themselves look great. Fake people always try to find something wrong with someone’s happiness and they feel great when they find mistakes in other’s work. Criticism for good intentions is much better than unsubstantial appraisal.
Unconditional Help Vs. Selfish Motives
Genuine people are nice, and they would like to help you most of the time. They make others happy for no personal reason behind it. Fake people are only nice to someone only if they are getting something from them in return. We all know that one person who keeps tabs on how much they helped and waits to pull it out at the right time to get something from you. Well, now you know they’re fake.
