7 Ways To Train Yourself To Be More Creative

Creativity is the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality. Creativity is characterized by the ability to perceive the world in new ways, to find hidden patterns, to make connections between seemingly unrelated phenomena, and to generate solutions. Creativity can be intangible for example an idea, a scientific theory, a musical composition, a joke, a physical object such as an invention, a literary work, or a painting. Some people are born with a creative mind.

“Creativity is just connecting Things. When you ask creative people how they did something , they feel a little guilty because they didn’t do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while”

Creative people don’t need to put an effort into making something or creating new ideas. Creative people are gifted by God. They don’t have to put their heart and soul into thinking day and night about the ways to achieve new endeavors. But some people aren’t born that way. They have to work till their last breathe to get their work done. Some people have to learn how to become creative or boost their creativity. Here are some ways through which a man can become a creative person:

7. Understanding Inner Capabilities:

Every person is bestowed with a lot of capabilities. Some people are able to get what they have got but some aren’t able to realize that. People need to learn that. And once a person knows how to channel what he has got their is no way he won’t be a creative and successful person. Almost all the famous people in the world realized at one point of their life that they can do something and after that realization they felt that new ideas started popping up in their brain which means they had a creative thing present in them but somehow they were not able to see that but once they put a little effort they understood that creative part of their brain and became successful. So, to become a creative person the first and most important thing is to understand one’s inner capabilities.

We all are very busy in the hustle and bustle of Life. Everyone has got a lot of errands to run which makes a man work around the clock. Every day one a person wakes up the biggest stress comes instantly after thinking about the jam-packed to-do list. But focusing solely on how much we have to get done can stress us out, and it can even cause us to lose perspective on our own thinking. So instead of doing that a very easy way to overcome that issue is doing free writing. Free writing is a form of writing whatever work a man has to do or any point which is related to that work which comes in one’s mind. This not only helps a man to reduce his stress level but also makes a man more creative. When a person will write all random things coming in his mind and will put a little stress on his mind it will make him a creative person.

Since a person’s creativity is based upon how his Brain is wired , it’s important to keep your mind stimulated by new sights, sounds, tastes, smells, and experiences. Exposure to an entirely different point of view through a new cultural experience is very helpful. Keeping your sense sharp allows the synapses in your brain to think in new ways.  “Foreign experiences increase both cognitive flexibility and depth and integrativeness of thought, the ability to make deep connections between disparate forms”ADAM GALINSKY. A professor at Columbia Business School, whose research focuses on the cognitive connection between international travel and creativity. He has emphasized on the importance of travelling to different places, but also immersing yourself into their culture. By engaging with the local art, cuisine, and people, a man allows himself to really learn new ways of thinking that he can later apply to his own ideas.

Generally children are considered naturally creative. Because they know no limits to their creativity. Children agree to go in any direction with the help of their creativity that’s why they don’t hold back. So, this can be a great tool to become a Creative person , a person can channel this mentality, especially when it comes to taking a completely different direction about his work. Instead of being concerned or self-conscious that his work isn’t good enough, be willing to take risks to push your creative limits. Having fun while work is of utmost importance.

3. By Incorporating Breaks In Daily Work Routine:

Have you ever noticed that some of your best ideas come to you at the most random times, like the car or the shower? There’s a reason for that: These breaks allow your mind to continue to work on these ideas without getting stuck in a funk where you can’t organize your thoughts. As Dr. Adrian Furnman has said in a Psychology Today article,

“It’s important to give your thinking ‘incubation time’ once you’ve been actively working on an idea for some time.”

Similarly, Brian Halligan, CEO at HubSpot’s and co-founder, is a big advocate for naps at the workplace. He actually finds his best ideas come to him when he just falling asleep or just waking up. In his interview given to New York Times, he said he pushes to make the office into an environment where employees can “work less and think more” by providing nap rooms to encourage folks to take a break. This, he says, will help spark creativity. So to become a Creative person make sure to allow yourself to block off designated break sessions on your calendar so you don’t lose that time after being scheduled for endless, back-to-back meetings.

Like when you’ve hit a wall with your own ideas, it may be time to tap into the creativity of others. Surrounding yourself with people with whom you can share and get feedback on your ideas and opinions is very good for your creativity. Different points of view can act as the fresh perspective on a project you’ve been staring at for too long. To start networking with other creative minds, you can explore people’s work in Journals or by attending seminars.

Some Researches have shown there’s a strong correlation between humor and creativity. A laugh can actually bring you closer to those moments of inspiration. Humor also puts you in a better mood, allowing you to think more freely and better solve creative problems. If a person looks at his work from a more lighthearted perspective, he will allow himself to have a fresh perspective on the problem at hand. A person will forget about the stress of work and will be able to think of more creative ideas because of a tension free mind. And that’s how funny content will help a person in becoming a creative person.
