The fourth prime minister of Israel, Golda Meir said: “I must govern the clock, not be governed by it.” Golda Meir definitely knew very well how to govern the clock. He became prime minister during a devastating time in the history of Israel. Becoming successful is not what a society should do, it is something which only you should decide to attain and the ways of attaining it. Because the way you manage your time actually determines whether you will succeed or not. No matter how much you feel proud of yourself that you can do anything, you also at so many times need a reminder to use your time productively. One very important while achieving a task is knowing what you should not do ever. And successful is that person who avoids doing those things. Few such things are mentioned below. Give them a read and if you find anyone of them related, get rid of that as soon as possible:

Always remember this quote: “Know your limits, everyone has them.” All the happy and successful people always follow a great work ethic but they are superbly familiar with their limitations. When you allow yourself to be weighted down with such commitments which are of no worth or are extremely time and energy summing and do not assure a perfect result then that is the time when you need that you need to learn the skills of time management.

11. Technology Distractions:

You can mold down Golda Meir’s quotation a little bit and it will give you an amazing advice: “I must govern the technology, not be governed by it.” It is very embarrassing that with each passing day how the generation is becoming addicted to the e-devices. The fact is people who do some productive work never waste their precious hours on using Facebook. They also know the rules of a place and never use their mobile phones while being at work.

“Failing to plan is planning to fail.” This is such a famous and very well put together quotation. A plan always pays direct ways for you to do any difficult thing in life.

If you have got a habit of shifting your priorities every then and now then it is not a healthy habit and you need to shut it off immediately. An individual who is focused is always the one who knows what should be done on what day and at what time. If you would not be focused enough, you can never attain anything positive and good in life.

8. Working Until Late:

The hours which you impose on yourself are hours which should actually matter instead of constantly thinking and doing what you are being ordered to do. At times it is acceptable that you ended up waking late and working because of some tight schedule but you should never make this a habit. Never make yourself habitual of working the whole night and day.

7. Leaving Things Unfinished:

The people who are at the productive end and the successful ones are always the ones who finish their tasks at the proper and right time. They never a thing or a task just because it was taking a lot of times or was difficult. They take their time and never leave anything midway. An 18th-century statesman, Philip Stanhope who belonged to England and served as the fourth Earl of Chesterfield wrote the following lines to his son: “Know the true value of time; snatch, seize, and enjoy every moment of it. No idleness, no laziness, no procrastination; never put off until tomorrow what you can do today.”

6. Poor Listening:

The habit of poor listening starts developing in you the moment you feel you can do more than what the other person is saying. You do not pay attention to his informative words and that always ends up doing you no favor. If you will listen actively and will pay attention to whatever is been told then these both skills will always allow you gain much more knowledge than many others.

5. Doing It Alone:

When you do not collaborate with anyone or do not like to have a conversation with others that may result in a way that you may miss out many opportunities. If you do this then it has a lot of disadvantages such as doing all the things all alone, no one beside you to push you to work harder and no one to give you a good piece of advice.

4. Resting On Your Laurels:

Resting on your laurels in simpler words means that you are not trying to learn something new at all. Your brain is an amazingly powerful organ but you fail to use it the way it should be and you also do not use it wisely at times. Always keep on looking out for something new to learn and never make your mind a hard shell of rocks.

They just drain out all the energy and then you are not motivated enough to do anything as you have talked so much about things which do not deserve that much attention from you. If you will do a little bit of research then you will get to know that all the businessman, politicians or all other successful people never talk anything which they should not be saying, they never go where there is no good because they realize the worth of their precious time.
