7 Reasons Why Getting Fired is Good For You

There are several positive aspects when your boss says, “Pack your bags!” but you eventually do in hindsight and while we do feel saddened and stressed by it for a bit after a while. We realize that the sun does come up in the morning again and life simply goes on, only so much better. So, tell us are you blue because you’ve lost your job and you think the worlds at its end? Well, you have absolutely no reason to feel, we’ve listed 7 reasons why getting fired is actually good for you.

7. It helps you grow stronger:

We are all scared of failing and getting fired. It sounds an awful lot like a failure, and while it initially gives a blow to our confidence, it later helps us grow a thicker skin and helps us realize that we are stronger than we perceived ourselves to be. Because if you haven’t ever been fired it may seem awful and final to you, but when you have you’ll see that the life goes on and that you’re brave enough to hear someone reject you and stand back up on your two feet again with a stronger belief.

Were you dealing with a rash and angry boss? Is he/she the person who fired you? Or maybe you were working a job you were never really good at as a means to an end? Well, now every time you wake up in the morning you don’t have to deal with that toxic boss or go work a 9 to 5 job you hated. You’re free.

You were fired for a reason. Maybe it was because you were lazy, maybe it was because you weren’t able to do your work properly, or maybe it was simply because you upset the wrong person. The next time you go job hunting, you can be mindful of these problems, if you were lazy, you can find a job you are interested in and allows you to commit better. If you weren’t able to complete your work according to the standards required, you can find yourself a job that deals with your talents or you can harness your skills and try again next time. If your boss was unfair and fired you because you upset them or someone with pull, you can find yourself a work environment that is fair and healthy. Whatever the reason for you getting fired maybe, whether fair or unfair, it will allow you to reflect.

When you get fired you’ll see who actually has your back and who doesn’t. You’ve heard the metaphor, “A friend in need is a friend indeed.” The people that flock towards you in order to provide help and support are your real friends and while those who keep a safe distance aren’t. Of course, if you’ve actually made an error and getting fired is your own fault, then your real friends will be the people who will kindly scold you for your mistake and will be around you so you don’t repeat it. Sometimes a good friend is a person who shows you your truth.

Maybe the reason you’ve gotten fired is that the job you have is just not meant for you. Maybe your skills lie somewhere else and maybe your heart just isn’t in this particular career. Getting fired gives you a unique chance to rethink your past decisions and gives you an outlook that nothing else can.

Maybe you haven’t been giving your all in the workplace and that’s what’s gotten you fired. Well now, you can modify your approach and work harder. You can invest some of the free time you have on your hands as you job hunt to sharpen your skills and read up some literature and improve yourself.

I’ve just mentioned this in the last point, having free time means you can utilize it any way you want. Maybe your last job was very stressful and it was getting to you. Maybe now you can rejuvenate yourself and start fresh. If you’re lacking somewhere in skills you can sharpen them up, if you want to rethink your career and talk to people about it nows the time!
